What are the special days?

That’s rightI mean a wedding day, New Year’s Eve, Christmas Day, and Easter Day.

What can we say on these days? (Psst… para pronunciar “these“ðiːz”)

For a wedding day — Congratulations!

For New Year’s Eve — Happy New Year!

For Christmas Day (December 25th), you can write a Christmas card and send it in the post.

You can say Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

For Easter, you can say Happy Easter.

What do you do on your birthday? Do you have a special meal? In your country, do people send cards? Or are they more likely to go out and dance?

Do you give flowers or chocolates on your friends’ birthdays? Do you give presents?
